Psalm 97:2 Clouds and thick darkness surround him, righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne.

Psalm 97:4 His lightning lights up the world, the earth sees and trembles.

We’ve all witnessed the power of a storm and sometimes we are afraid. But each storm that rolls across the sky can bring to mind great truths. God is awesome in power, He judges His foes, and His glory fills the earth.

So, when the next storm comes, join the psalmist in praising God for His wondrous power and majesty. See God in the storm.

When we trust God, His power is not a danger but a comfort.

If you don’t allow your faith to affect other areas of your life the other areas of your life will begin to affect your faith. If you don’t push your faith into your relationships pretty soon you’re going to come across a relationship that’s going to cost you your faith. If you don’t push your faith into your business deals you’re going to come across a business deal that is going to cost you your faith.

Mark 8:37 What shall a man give in exchange

You don’t just lose your soul you have to exchange it.

Jesus said in Matthew 13:22 when the seed comes in it’s the thorns and the cares of this world and other things

Other things and desires begin to crowd out your faith. Your desire for a relationship becomes more important than pleasing God, your desire for prosperity becomes more important than pleasing God. Whenever you find pleasure outside of the grace of God it pulls you into sin and crowds out your faith. Then sooner or later you’ll find yourself realizing you have gained the whole world but exchanged your soul!
